The Father Wound Parent Course
Twelve Lessons. Six Weeks. The Plan That's Been Missing.
Something is wrong with your son. And you've tried everything.
You've talked. You've yelled. You've taken things away. You've given things back. You've tried therapy, medication, consequences, begging, ignoring it, and hoping it would pass.
It hasn't passed.
The anger is still there. Or the withdrawal. Or the failing grades. Or the defiance. Or the silence that scares you more than anything he could say.
Here's what nobody has told you: your son isn't broken. He's wounded. And underneath the behavior that's tearing your family apart is a specific, identifiable injury that has a name, a pattern, and a path to healing.
This course gives you all three.
Who This Is For
This course is for parents – mothers and fathers – of boys ages 10–18 who are struggling. It's also for stepparents, grandparents raising grandchildren, foster and adoptive parents, and anyone who cares about a boy who's in trouble.
You don't need a therapy background. You don't need to have read the book. You just need to be willing to do the work.
What You'll Learn
Week 1 – Understanding the Crisis: Why nothing you've tried has worked. What's actually driving your son's behavior. The iceberg beneath the surface.
Week 2 – Naming the Wound: The Five Father Wounds – Absent, Passive, Critical, Volatile, Enmeshed. Which one is your son carrying? Includes the clinical Father Wound Assessment.
Week 3 – The Healing Path: The Quest Path – the five-stage healing framework developed across nearly thirty years of clinical practice. Recognition, Release, Reconnection, Reclaiming, Rising.
Week 4 – Your Role: What your son actually needs from you. The Mirror Principle – how your own wound shows up in your parenting.
Week 5 – Practical Tools: The Big Four emotions. The Anger Shadow. The Conflict Resolution Tool. Boundary scripts that hold the line without breaking the bond.
Week 6 – The Long View: How to measure progress. Realistic timelines. And the man your son is becoming.

About Dr. Lessor

Clayton J. Lessor, PhD, LPC, has worked with over 2,000 adolescent boys in nearly thirty years of clinical practice. He is the creator of The Quest Project®, a therapeutic outpatient program with published, peer-reviewed research demonstrating statistically significant improvement in boys who complete the program.
He is the author of The Father Wound, Saving Our Sons, and Generation of Men, and served on the steering committee for the White House Council on Men and Boys (2019-2022).
This course contains the same framework, tools, and clinical insights Dr. Lessor uses in his private practice in St. Louis, Missouri – structured so any parent can access them from home.
The Research
The Quest Project is one of the few adolescent boy programs with peer-reviewed, published research. Dr. Lessor's doctoral study compared boys who completed the program to a matched control group and found:
- Statistically significant improvement in interpersonal functioning (effect size d = 0.69, p = .004)
- Boys who received no intervention got measurably worse – their inappropriate behavior deteriorated significantly (effect size d = 0.61, p = .011)
The implication is clear: without help, wounded boys don't plateau. They spiral. This course is built on the framework that catches them.
Your son isn't broken. He's wounded. And wounds can heal
But they don't heal by waiting. They heal when someone who loves him gets the right tools and does the work.
That someone is you. Start today.
